Here’s the link to my dialogue with R. Scott Bakker. It’s pretty long. Bakker has what he calls the Blind Brain Theory, which says that since introspection is blind to how the brain actually works, we make up stuff about our nature. In short, Bakker’s more radical than I am when it comes to the existence of things like freewill, intentionality, and consciousness.

The main comment I have on what you say about energy and form is that those two concepts seem to come from different fields. Energy is a physical concept, whereas form is more mathematical or even aesthetic. What exactly do you mean by “form” in scientific terms? Do you mean just matter?

Knowledge condemns. Art redeems. I learned that as an artistic writer who did a doctorate in philosophy. We should try to see the dark comedy in all things.
