Have I proclaimed myself an intellectual? I don't talk much about myself.
But we seem to be disagreeing on what "intellectual" is supposed to mean. Perhaps this stems from our earlier debate about the nature of enlightenment. You're assuming someone must succeed in subverting society to be a subversive, whereas I had in mind only the implications of the person's criticisms of society. Someone can be a failed subversive. In other words, it's the worldview that's at issue, not what the person manages to do with it.
And an intellectual, for me, is just someone who's much more interested in ideas than in people, places, or things.
