Great point. The data stream may make for the ultimate in co-optation since no alternative vision has a chance to catch on. It all just flows by, lacking any deep meaning, and at most stimulating the social media addict for a brief moment. Then again, there are plenty of small subcommunities that form on the internet, and superstars do emerge from the crowd.
