"Fit," "suitable," and "proper," and "appropriate" are synonymous, and they're all relative to a purpose. They presuppose the rightness of a goal, and the available means can be objectively compared as to which is best for achieving the goal. Aristotle argued that purposes are objective, but that was dubious. Vervaeke would have to explain the objectivity of purposes, without violating scientific theories and methodological naturalism.
