Evolutionary psychologists have been known to be greedily reductive, though, as in the meme theory of cultural content. If the interpretation of culture doesn't reduce wholly to biological or evolutionary factors, the possibility arises of alienation from nature, due to the autonomy of cultural perspectives.

Your view here sounds like Spinoza's point about the "blessedness" of feeling united with an eternal, deterministic universe. Indeed, this is the upshot of monism in general. And this was also the reassuring conclusion of Olaf Stapledon's Last and First Men, as I recall.
