Even if love were the highest human ideal, it's still vain and unscientific to assume that that ideal should govern the rest of the universe. What I mean is that there's no good reason to think that the world in so far as it's scientifically explained and objectified is subject to what we think ought to happen. This means that personhood and its ideals are anomalous in the outer wilderness.
