Do you think they had retirement homes for the elderly in first century Palestine? No, the elderly would have moved in with their extended family when they couldn't care for themselves, just as they do today in Eastern, collectivist societies.

Jesus didn't just move out. He denied his biological family existed, to emphasize the importance of his Christian brotherhood. Of course, that was just a polemic by the gospel writers to reduce the importance of the Jerusalem Church that was destroyed by the Romans, the one that was supposedly led by Jesus's brother James.

The fifth paragraph simply lays out the parable of the good Samaritan. How on earth does that show any misunderstanding about spirituality or love?

Do me a favor and don't bother reading past that paragraph. I write only for thinkers.
