Did I claim to have understood Nietzsche perfectly? I agree that the spirit of Nietzsche is more important than his particular aphorisms, since he wasn't a system-builder.

Rather than standing for all religion, though, Nietzsche was more like a prophet of a new, worthy modern religion. Nazism and communism were contenders that failed. We're still looking for that more suitable, "noble" faith.
