Covid-19 has indeed put more emphasis on the body, and it's certainly made us less social because of the lockdown. But self-deception is probably our primary skill. Most people are desperate to get back to normal, to get out there, meet people again and buy stuff at the stores.
We think of ourselves as consumers, as lords of the earth who can do whatever we want (within the law), without negative repercussions. We think of ourselves as liberated minds or souls piloting our bodies, not as nothing but our physical forms.
Secular societies seem to have lower birthrates because secularism represents a form of societal maturity that's comparable to old age on the individual level. What works for us when we're young and naive doesn't work so well when we're older and jaded.
