The values are creative, prudent, heroic responses to that predicament. We demonstrate we’re subject to moral categories by exercising our freedom in rebelling against nature.

Theists don’t explain morality by saying it comes from God since they only stipulate that God is perfect, even as the evidence proffered by their theology indicates otherwise (the unleashing of the serpent in Eden, the reliance on angels who could turn into demons and take over the universe, and the resort to eternal punishment in Hell for being imperfect and rejecting a preposterous theology).
