Certainly, in a free society there's bound to be a variety products out there that cater to different audiences. That's a matter of self-selection. But I'm talking here about the walled gardens, the social media networks that are managed by algorithms. Content creators join them, hoping to be treated well, and the algorithms are opaque so hardly anyone knows how they work. I'm just pointing out here some likely unintended results of these platforms.
