But then you're turning "love" into a weasel word, which is a typical form of theological sophistry. If we don't know what love is, then "God is love" is misleading. If you're appealing to mystical doubts about our cognitive capacities, you're supposed to say "God is X," not get emotionally attached to parochial sentiments, like the weak analogy between God and a loving human parent.
