But if only the underlying, inhuman self is real, why show compassion to the illusory vessels of that Self? Why love your personal self or any other mere ego? Loving only the underlying, most real Self that isn't directly present anywhere in nature or in humanity seems consistent with the militant Islamist who murders civilians. The civilians are only shadows of monistic reality, so why isn't the UN conception of human rights as delusory as identification with the ego?
