Because modern Israel has little to do with ancient Israel. Modern Jews are backed by the American superpower. Which superpower backed the ancient Jews, as opposed to conquering them time and time again?

And do Muslims suffer nobly? I agree that Islamic and Bedouin honour codes are in some ways respectable (and in others barbaric). But many Muslims are plenty resentful against Jews and the modern West in general. Resentment isn't so noble. The West has often hypocritically backed dictators in the Muslim world, but there are also internal problems with Islam which seem to prevent it from being modernized. So there's lots of blame to go around, as far as I can see.
