As I explained in response to a number of other comments here, I just picked two examples I'm familiar with to test psychiatric definitions of mental health in a counterfactual context: What would psychiatrists say if they were faced with what seem clearly like crazy social norms?

I agree that modern politics, too, might be deemed crazy, especially in so far as politicians are liable to be sociopathic. But psychiatrists don't excuse sociopathy or narcissism like they do the greed that drives capitalism.
