Sure, we model the universe to understand it. So my point would be that as best as we can understand the universe, from a philosophically naturalistic perspective, nature's overall impression on us is horrific. Nature is monstrous, given our misplaced, alienated social intuitions. The universe fluctuates, coalesces, and reaches equilibrium, as you say--and all of that universal evolution happens pointlessly, with no intelligent guidance. The universe seems animated just like a numinous zombie. That's the stuff of a horror show.

I don't see how your cosmology is inconsistent with what I'm saying here. We're just emphasizing different aspects of naturalism. You're emphasizing the physicality, while I'm emphasizing the existential upshot.
