Archeology and anthropology. How else would early humans have lived? There are still tribes living as nomadic hunter-gatherers today, and although there's some evidence that early humans lived for part of the year in settlements, they mostly would have followed animal herds, with the seasons.

Or are you just pushing a baseless young earth creationist line, as though there were no humans or proto-humans before just around ten thousand years ago?
