Eastern societies tend to be less impudent in challenging nature. They say either that we shouldn't be so invested in material progress because reincarnation is bad, or they revere nature and say we should be in balance with it. By contrast, monotheistic, individualistic societies say we should be dominating and perfecting nature, so personhood comes first.
Where does social health lie with respect to those two options?
