Am I supposed to be psychic? You said somewhere that you’ve been studying economics, so that’s all I knew. The fact that you’re studying economics at the graduate level explains the emotional component of your resistance to my criticisms, though. This is largely a tribal disagreement we’re having. You understand that at least dimly, right? That this isn’t just an empirical, intellectual matter for you?
By contrast, I’m not part of the economics tribe, so I don’t care even about my criticisms of economics as much as you do. I care about honouring my philosophical vision of how the world works, and I try not to deceive myself. That’s why I wrote that second article, to address your objections about the new kind of economics. But economics isn’t central to my world the way it is to yours.
