Ah, in so far as personhood requires self-interest or egoism, personhood would be opposed to nature's indiscriminateness or indifference, the latter amounting to its wild creativity, its experimentation with many other forms. I'm reminded of that scene in the movie Her in which the AI reveals to the user who's fallen in love with her that she's simultaneously conversing with thousands of other users.
