Actually, I haven't read him. Just from his Wiki page, I see that he's a neo-Kantian of some kind. I don't know about the term "metaontology." It sounds like he's trying to deflate metaphysics with a more skeptical perspective. That's what Kant did when he reduced metaphysics to transcendental questions about possible human experience.
