A science of economics would be dedicated to getting at the objective truth of how markets work. That would differ from the purveying of sly propaganda that makes excuses for capitalism's tendency to become plutocratic. We've disagreed on the extent to which varieties or stages of economics does one or the other.

I meant to be building on what Chang said, not putting words in his mouth. His point, as I understand and remember it, is that economics is more political than mathematized economists let on.
